Setup guide

From sign-up to your first published post

The whole setup takes about ten minutes, and most of it is you telling ContentFlow about your directory. Work through these steps in order and you will have a live article on your blog the same day.

1

Create your account and pick a plan

Sign up with your email address (or Google), then choose a plan from the pricing section. Starter runs one site, Growth runs three, Scale runs ten. You can move up at any time from the plan card in the dashboard sidebar.

After signing up you land on the dashboard. Nothing is generated until you connect a site, so the first thing to do is add one.

2

Get your Brilliant Directories API key

Log in to your Brilliant Directories admin area, open the Developer Hub and generate an API key. Copy it — you only need to paste it once.

The key is stored server-side and is never sent back to your browser, so nobody on your team can read it from the page, and it is not exposed if you share a screenshot.

3

Connect the site

In the dashboard, open Sites and press Connect site. Give the site a name, paste its URL and the API key.

Press Check site: ContentFlow reads your website and drafts the content theme, target audience, tone and keywords for you. It also verifies the API key and, where the key allows it, finds the blog post type and author id that publishing needs.

Review the drafted settings, then press Connect site. The site now shows as connected, with its own card in Sites.

4

Tune the brief

Open the site settings to adjust anything the analysis got wrong. The important fields:

Theme — the subject every post is built around. Target audience — who it is written for. Tone — friendly, professional, expert, conversational or inspiring. Cadence — daily, twice weekly, weekly, biweekly or monthly. Seed keywords, and editorial notes where you can paste your own brand rules or house style.

You can also add approved affiliate links (the only external links the writer may use), choose posts per run, and switch on Generate hero image so every post arrives with an editorial-style picture. Auto-publish is off by default: leave it off while you are testing, turn it on when the drafts read the way you want.

5

Generate your first post

Either press Generate now on the site page, or let the schedule do it: the first post follows your cadence, and the Calendar page shows what is coming next.

New drafts arrive in the Review queue with a headline, excerpt, 1,000+ word body, keywords, meta description and hero image.

6

Review, edit and publish

Open a draft from the Review queue. You can rewrite any part of the body, swap the hero image and adjust the meta description or slug.

Save and mark ready when it is approved, or press Publish now to send it straight to your Brilliant Directories blog. Published posts keep a link to the live article, so you can check it on your site.

If a draft is not right, Reject draft removes it from the queue and leaves the site settings untouched.

Common questions

Do I need the API key to try it?

Yes for publishing, because that is how posts reach your site. The key comes from your own Brilliant Directories admin, and you can remove it whenever you like by disconnecting the site.

What happens if a post fails to publish?

The draft keeps its content and shows the error from your site, so you can fix the site settings and publish again rather than losing the article.

Can I keep my own writing style?

Yes. Tone, editorial notes and seed keywords are applied to every generation, and every draft is editable before it goes live.

Still stuck?
